Vidyapravesh (विद्याप्रवेश) is a traditional Hindu ritual that marks a child's formal entry into the world of education. It is a sacred ceremony performed before a child begins their academic journey, ensuring blessings from Goddess Saraswati (the deity of knowledge) and removing obstacles in learnings.
The NCERT Vidyapravesh program is a three-month play-based school preparation module designed for children entering Grade 1. It aims to provide a smooth transition from home or preschool to formal schooling by engaging children in experiential, activity-based learning.The Vidyapravesh program focuses on foundational literacy, numeracy, and socio-emotional development through structured activities. Observations are based on children's engagement, learning behavior, and responses during the implementation of the module.VIVEKANANDA KENDRA VIDYALAYA RANGAT successfully completed The NCERT Vidyapravesh program.Graduation Day was celebrated on 1st March 2025. The program was inaugurated by the Principal. The tiny dots of Class I were graduated & awarded with certificates.The program came to an end with sweet distribution.A total of 19 children took part in that program.
VIVEKANANDA KENDRA VIDYALAYA RANGAT has been conducting SANSKAR VARGA twice in a Month for children studying from class I to V & KENDRA VARGA for children from Class VI to X. During these Vargas children perform some set of activities in a systematic manner. Sanskar Varg is a program that helps children develop their mental, emotional, and cultural well-being through learning Sanskrit mantras, prayers, and other activities.
Chanting mantras: Helps children overcome speech impediments and build a positive sense of self
Prayers: Helps children improve their pronunciation and understand Indian culture
Activities: Includes interactive sessions, discussions about festivals and customs, and sharing stories .
KENDRA VARGA:
Sri Ramakrishna Paramhansa Jayanti is an annual celebration honoring the birth anniversary of Sri Ramakrishna, a 19th-century Indian mystic and spiritual leader. His teachings emphasized the unity of all religions, devotion, and self-realization. This occasion is widely observed by followers, spiritual seekers, and institutions associated with the Ramakrishna Mission.
Maatru Puja, a sacred ritual dedicated to honoring mothers, was celebrated with devotion and enthusiasm at VIVEKANANDA KENDRA VIDYALAYA RANGAT on 5 th February 2025.The event aimed to instill values of gratitude, respect, and love in children ,to uphold the cultural tradition of honoring one’s mother as a divine figure by recognizing the selfless sacrifices of their mothers.Mothers of all participating students were invited, making it a heartwarming and emotional occasion.
Children performed the traditional feet-washing ritual, symbolizing respect and devotion.
They applied Tilak on their mothers’ foreheads and offered flowers as a mark of reverence.Vedic hymns and mantras were chanted, creating a serene spiritual atmosphere.Students were issued with admit cards after taking the blessings from all teachers & pandit ji.
The event concluded with mothers blessing their children, followed by a community lunch.The event was an overwhelming success, leaving a lasting impression on both students and parents. Many mothers became emotional, expressing their joy at being honored in such a meaningful way. The students learned valuable life lessons about gratitude, humility, and the significance of family bonds.Maatru Puja was a beautiful and inspiring event that reinforced the values of respect, love, and devotion toward parents. The celebration served as a reminder of the selfless sacrifices made by mothers and emphasized the importance of expressing gratitude in everyday life.
Saraswati Puja, dedicated to Goddess Saraswati, the deity of wisdom, learning, and arts, was celebrated with great enthusiasm and devotion at VIVEKANANDA KENDRA VIDYALAYA RANGAT on 3rd February 2025.The event was attended by students, teachers, and community members who gathered to seek the blessings of goddess Saraswati.
The preparations for the puja began well in advance. The venue was beautifully decorated with flowers, rangoli, and traditional ornaments. A magnificent idol of Goddess Saraswati was placed in the center, surrounded by flowers & lamps. Students actively participated in organizing the event, ensuring all arrangements were in place.
The Main Celebration of Saraswati Puja commenced on 3rd February with the chanting of Vedic mantras by the priest. Devotees offered flowers, fruits, and sweets to the goddess.Class X Students along with teachers sat for hawan Students placed their requests under the holy feet of Maa Saraswati by following the tradition of seeking her's blessings for knowledge and wisdom.After the hawan, an aarti was performed. Prasad, was distributed among all attendees.At around 9:45 am Kichdi & sabji were distributed among all the devotee.The Saraswati Puja celebration was a spiritually enriching experience for all participants. It not only strengthened faith and devotion but also promoted cultural and artistic expressions among students. The event left everyone inspired to pursue knowledge and wisdom with dedication and sincerity.Near about 600 people,took part in the celebration.on the same day evening at around 5: 45 , Sandhya Aarati was performed for Maa Saraswati. In connection with that, bajan singing competition was also conducted. Children from different classes participated. Visarjan was on 5th February at about 11:45 am.On that day, class X children were issued admit cards after the rituals of Maatru Puja.
The 20th Annual Athletic Meet of VIVEKANANDA KENDRA VIDYALAYA RANGAT was successfully held on 30 th January 2025 with great enthusiasm and sportsmanship. The event was organized with the goal of promoting physical fitness, teamwork, and the spirit of competition among students. The meet witnessed active participation from students across various age groups and classes, showcasing their athletic skills and determination.
The event began with lighting up the lamp by our Chief Guest. Our Principal Shri CH SHANMUGA RAO welcomed the Guests through his wonderful Speech.The Chief Guest, SHRI V. RANJIT KUMAR, Assistant Director of Sports, Rangat , N & M Andaman, was invited to inaugurate the event and delivered an inspiring speech, motivating the students to give their best in the competitions.
SMTI R. BARKHA , Assistant Conservator of Forests,graced the occasion as a Guest of Honour and Shri SUSHIL KUMAR MAZUMDER was invited as a Special Guest of the opening ceremony and SHRI SUSHIM KUMAR BISWAS, Vice - Principal , GSSS, RANGAT ,was invited as a a Chief Guest for the closing ceremony, Shri K. ANAND,JE, STS unit Rangat graced the event as a Guest of Honour and SMTI V.B. SUNDARI BASKARAN was invited as a Special Guest for the closing ceremony.
Various events were organized for both boys and girls, ranging from Duck Race ,sprints, jumping race ,relay races. Special events such as the three-legged race, sack race, and bottle filling with water,added excitement and fun to the meet. House wise Fancy dress competition was organised and Musical Chair also was conducted for parents & teachers. Winners were awarded with certificates.
Prizes and certificates were distributed to the winners during the opening & closing ceremony, The event concluded with a vote of thanks by Shri V. SENTHIL KUMAR one of our staffs,expressing gratitude to all PTA & SMC members , well wishers and dignitaries , participants, volunteers, and staff members who contributed to the success of the meet.

On the auspicious morning of 26th January 2025, VIVEKANANDA KENDRA VIDYALAYA RANGAT celebrated 76th Republic day of our Jagat Janani " Bharat" with great pomp and gaiety along with patriotic fervor.
The day was celebrated in our school with great eclat. The school campus was beautifully decorated with flowers and national flags. We were beside ourselves with joy. The event began with " Prabhat Feri" & the surroundings were echoed with " patriotic slogans". After that , our honorable Principal Shri CH SHANMUGA RAO unfolded the national flag along with, the national anthem was also sung by all. After that Diti Sahay of Class- V, delivered a wonderful speech followed by an inspiring national song " Aarati Bharat Maata Ki" which was sung by all. Subsequently,Kumari Archana of Class- VII, delivered a speech on Republic day.Then, Mr. Sumit Kumar Sarkar, one of our teachers,presented a stirring speech which was inspired by all.Soon after,our Principal ,spoke about the importance of the day & motivated the children to remember the sacrifices of the great souls and to follow the path of patriotism.The program was concluded by the sweet distribution. The event was organised by "Mathura House".A total of people witnessed the event.
VEER BAL DIWAS is not only a day to remember the martyrdom of Sahibzada Zorawar Singh and Sahibzada Fateh Singh, but also a reminder of the sacrifice made by all four of Guru Gobind Singh's sons and the courage they displayed.In order to remember the sacrifices made by them, VIVEKANANDA KENDRA VIDYALAYA RANGAT observed VEER BAL DIWAS on 26th December 2025 and conducted various competitions such as painting competition, Essay writing , poster making etc for children from class I to Class - X and also showcased the webcast of Shri Narendra Modi's interaction with children.A total of 157 children along with 12 teachers witnessed the program.
VIVEKANANDA KENDRA VIDYALAYA RANGAT celebrated the 162 nd birth anniversary of SWAMI VIVEKANANDA & NATIONAL YOUTH DAY with great zeal and enthusiasm. The program was held at ATAL BIHARI VAJPAYEE Auditorium,RANGAT, N & M Andaman. The hall was beautifully decorated with lights. All parents,well-wishers ,SMC members and other dignitaries were invited to witness the program.The program began with the lighting of the lamp by the Chief Guest, Shri VIKASH KUMAR Assistant Commissioner, DANICS, Rangat, and the Guest of Honour, Shri KRISHNA SWAMY,Vice-Principal of PM Shri Government Senior Secondary School, Sabari Junction, followed by the school prayer.The Principal delivered a warm welcome address, after which the students performed a beautiful welcome dance.Smti. MONALISA BISWAS ,Mukya Sevika, delivered an insightful keynote address, focusing on the teachings of Swami Vivekananda and the significance of Samarth Bharat Parv in fostering a strong and self-reliant India.The program then moved to the prize distribution ceremony, during which mementos were presented to the Chief Guest and the Guest of Honour as a token of gratitude. The Chief Guest and Guest of Honour also distributed prizes to the achievers.The Chief Guest, Shri VIKASH KUMAR Assistant Commissioner, DANICS, delivered an inspiring address, speaking about the life, teachings, and vision of Swami Vivekananda, encouraging the youth to imbibe his ideals for personal and national development.
The cultural program showcased diverse performances, starting with a dance by Balvatika 1 & 2 students, followed by a classical dance, and a performance by Balvatika -3 students. This was followed by another round of prize distribution. Other captivating performances included a skit, Bengali dance (Class 2), Assamese folk dance, Nagpuri folk dance, Gujarati folk dance, Tamil dance, and Hindi dance to "Vande Mataram". A pyramid formation by students was a special highlight, showcasing their teamwork and discipline. The program concluded with a vote of thanks by Shri Senthil Kumar,one of the teachers and ended with the Shanti Path, leaving the audience inspired and appreciative of the vibrant cultural celebration.The event was a grand success, fostering unity and reflecting the values of Swami Vivekananda. A total of 350 people witnessed the program.
Kumari Diti Sahay class V secured First Position in Drawing competition on the topic EVOLUTION OF MONEY & Kumari Shiza Aziz, class VII secured Third position in Essay Compt on the Topic JOURNEY OF INDIA FROM CASH TO CASHLESS in connection with A & N Civil Accounts Day - 2024.
On 2nd January 2025, Mananeeya Bhanudas ji, All India General Secretary, Vivekananda Kendra Kanyakumari, Susri Varsha Bujone, Secretary VKVs Andaman and Shri R. Venu Gopal, Education Officer VKVs Andaman visited Vivekananda Kendra Vidyalaya, Rangat at around 6:30 pm.
Next day visited PM Shri GSSS Sabari at 10 am where Mananeeya Bhanudas Ji interacted with students & Teachers on the topic Samarth Bharat Parv.
There was an interacting session with the students of class VIII & IX . There was a staff meeting, discussed on the topic -School Mission.
In the evening, SMC & PTA meeting was conducted at 5 pm.
