Eknath Ramakrishna Ranade (19 November 1914 – 22 August 1982) was a social activist and leader that led the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh.
Having joined the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) while he was still in the school, he went on to become an organiser and leader for the organisation, rising through its ranks to serve as its general secretary from 1956 to 1962.
Ranade was greatly influenced by the teachings of Swami Vivekananda, and compiled a book of Vivekananda's writings.
During the 1963–72 period, Ranade played an instrumental role in the construction of the Vivekananda Rock Memorial and the Vivekananda Kendra at Kanyakumari, Tamil Nadu.
Sadhna Diwas was observed at Vivekananda Kendra Vidyalaya, Rangat on 20th Nov. 2023, to commemorate Mananeeya Eknath Ranade .
Portrait of Man. Eknath Ranade was beautifully decorated with flowers. The lamp was lit and kept. Our Principal paid tribute by offering flowers to the portrait of Mananeeya Eknathji. A group of students sang the song 'Hum Anuyagi Eknath Ke' to honor Eknathji. As part of the commemoration, a short documentary film highlighting the foundation of the Vivekananda Rock Memorial was presented to the students. The celebration concluded with students and staff offering flowers to the portrait of Eknathji Ranade.
